ABOUT
I was born in France and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. Driven by a fiery passion for visual storytelling, I aspire to capture and share thought provoking stories with a balance of cinematic and authentic touch. Filmmaking is the medium I have had a personal connection with since a young age, with a particular love for expression using lighting and camera language to evoke deep emotion.
I completed my BA in motion picture and medium in 2017 at AFDA Cape Town, with a major in cinematography. Since then I've been working my way up the ladder of the camera department on numerous TV commercials and long-form productions. I'm currently represented by Radical Crew agency. In my experiences as a camera assistant I've had the privilege to learn from DOPs Deon Van Zyl, Rick Joaquim SASC, Eugenio Galli SASC and Mathias Boucard AFC.
In parallel to my camera assistant journey, I've been pursuing my cinematography career. My DOP and videography work includes various digital content, TV commercials short films, fashion films, and music videos.
My achievements in cinematography first led me to winning the award for Best Cinematographer for my AFDA graduation short film “O-Puncha” (2017).
Another collaboration with my fellow AFDA alumnis led us win the Fitch & Leedes Best Movie Award at the 2019 Bokeh Fashion Film Festival.
My first international award was for Best Cinematography at the London Fashion FilmFestival 2019, for the fashion film “Connect” (2018).
My recent short film "Some Mothers' Sons", co-directed with Luntu Masiza and Mbulelo Grootboom has received numerous nominations and awards across the globe, including a SAFTA 2021 nomination for best short film, and winner for best cinematography at the Botswana International Film Festival.
